Guest Saqa
Hi fishraiders I would like to share a new rod that I have been working on . This is built on the sp max UL blank that I have had built to my specs. This is the first rod to be built on this range of blanks. Rear grip: 7 inch total split grip in premium grade cork (to clients specs) Fore grip: Has my fingersplit between the seat and the premium grade cork Reel seat: Gold graphite seat with real carbon fibre insert Guides: American Tackle Titans (solid titanium frames) Decal: Custom decal in hologramatic metalic colours with clients choice of graphics and text Now who des this rod belong to? Flattieman
stick of death aye??? looks nice, i like it CFD ! That is one gooood-looking rod. I can just imagine it featuring in the next 50lb'er pic - it'd surely put a bend in a 7' UL! Flattieman.

Guest BBM Rick
Yep, it's me! How cool does it look? Im gonna name the next one the "FISHKILLER 10000" and have a pic of a circular saw blade!! just a bit of an ongoing joke with my dad, silly names for rods. Looks great Saqa, see you on Sunday arvo, maybe hit the Cooks for an SP session. If anyone wants to come check it out, you would be most welcome. Will put a time up as soon as I know. Cheers, Rick. MarlinMadness
I was lucky enough to have a look at this rod over at Saqa's place the other day and I believe this rod is built so you can put your finger on the rod blank therefore obtaining more sensitivity and feel hence the shit hot look this rod has been given. Very nice and craftmanship is awesome.
cap3
Very nice looking stick, workmanship looks top class as well Personally though, I'm not a big fan of the split rear grip, apart from austhetics, I'm not sure what purpose it serves either. Looks like a more expensive option to the solid rear grip as well.
Guest Saqa
Thanks for the kind comments guys. I love doing all sorts of unusual stuff on request. Now unless the request has a lot of extra effort involved I dont charge extra for it. Things like custom decals and split grips are all part of the service
kevin B
Saga, seriously mate its none of my business really, but when you work out the price of the components, blank and then your labour, how do you make a decent living by doing this?
Guest Saqa
--> QUOTE(kevin B @ Jun 1 2006, 09:04 PM) 100136[/snapback] Saga, seriously mate its none of my business really, but when you work out the price of the components, blank and then your labour, how do you make a decent living by doing this? Mate I do have a day Job and I am building rods just for the love of it. I am hoping to concentrate on this fulltime in the future but first I have to get the brand outthere and accepted. I get a lot of stuff directly from the brand houses so I am able to keep the price down
ianoc69
Saga, It is refreshing to see high quality gear at affordable prices. The wormanship has been commented previously and from all photographs it looks first class. Hopefully the day is not too far away when you can leave the day job and go full time branching out. PS - Thanks for your repair support - see ya later today
Guest BBM Rick
Well, I picked this rod up yesterday, and I've gotta say, the finger split is awesome! It is quite natural to sit your finger in it, and it is SOOOO beautifully balanced! The workmanship is 1st class! It was blowing a gale yesterday, so it was not possible to wet a line but the first chance I get, I will be out to see what this baby is capable of.
