Hay all,

well this is my first post, but have been a regular visiter to the site for the last few months.

I need some advise on selecting a motor of my new beast, (second boat and just want to get it right as the last one only lasted 9 months before i grew out of it).

The boat is 5.69m stacer cabin and i have the options between a 140 Johno currently on it, or waiting a few weeks for the new 115 Evinrude etec's. I ve just about done my brain in on reading all the in's and out of the two motor and pros and cons but still cant make a dission.

it would be great to see what you guys have to say.

Hey mate !

Whats wrong with the Johno ? why are you going to replace it ?

If you do how come you dropping so many horses, 115 might be underdone perhaps.

There you go, all ive done is ask more questions than give answers. I'm fairly usefull arent I !! :1prop:

edit - i carnt spel

Theres nothing wrong with the johnno it just that i like the idea of no servicing for the first 300 hours on the Evinrude etec's as well as alittle lighter and ive allways been a 2 stroke guy. The main concern is weather i should drop a few horse's, too save a dollar or two in the servicing costs.

dammm. chosing a new rig is always so fun hahah....

Nothing wrong with that logic. Just be carefull not to underpower you boat cause you will regret it regardless of the cost saving.

Hi Cookie,

I got my 115 ETEC 2 weeks ago and have been out about 8 times so far. If you would like my opinion...................:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup: ..........Bloody Beautiful!

It's on a 5.1m alloy with plenty of gear in it. With the standard prop it cruises along at about 42mph at five and half grand - love my 2 strokes! Shoots out of the hole like a rocket and sounds great.
