inked
whats the difference between single and dual frequency. I'll mostly be fishing in Botany bay and up to 2km out the heads cheers dave
Guest
Normally 200 or 50 hz transducers The 200 is for shallow depths up to 300 feet and the 50 is for deeper water over the shelf . Both have differnet cone angles ,the shallow one spreads out more and the deeper one is more concentrated. Cheers Swordfisherman

Guest
thanks guys so I guess I should be looking for a single frequency sounder then? cheers dave Dave ,if you want to sound to depths such as the Canyons etc you will need a commercial size sounder with heaps of punch to reach the bottom . If you are looking for Browns Mountain you will nedd one that at least reads to 300 fathoms . Cheers Stewy

Guest IFishSick.
You definately need the 50 over the 200 for offshore purposes. It is a million times better seeing as the 200 loses the bottom at about 50m
