caine
got some forsyth braid on ebay 15lb was really happy with it.... casts well feels nice. but 4 casts later it wore a groove in my rod tip and distroyed the guide. is this common with forsyth braid or did i have a dodgy guide. it is my most expensive rod but i think i replaced the rod tip once before. im going to fix the rod to i give up on forsyth braid. domza
How thick was the braid? I recently bought 30lb braid which is a amazing 0.10mm thick and i will be chasing kings on it, so i hope it doesnt happen to my rod.(its a KING rod so it shouldnt ) Did this happen while fighting a fish with the extra pressure or just normal casting and retrieving? Bashir
Put a fuji sic tip on it, you'll never have such a problem again.
harold
i use Berkley Fireline on 3 or 4 of my rods and i have never had the problem. I cant imagine any braid manufacturer would allow this to happen with their product. Maybe a faulty tip?
