I think you have to try it out ... I bought some penn mariner cheap spool of line once.. from the bargain bin about 4 spools and year and half later later i was searching for it from store to store... It wasn't the greatest line , but it was perfect for throwing big lures with an alvey,... had just the right stiffness.. it was incredibly consistant as well ... unlike some more expensive lines i've purchased...which have differed from spool to spool.
Bashir Posted September 29, 2006 Posted September 29, 2006 It is the same product as Ande apparently. I've never known it to be a bargain bin special. It is a 'perlon' line made by Bayer in Germany and is also sold around the world under heaps of different names, do a google search for perlon lines or similar. I use it on all my reels, along with Ande, I can't tell the difference between them, its a quality prodcut at a great price and I've never had a bustoff.
