Guest Saqa Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 (edited) G'day raiders Got a couple of recent builds to share with you. I put a 'KR Livebait 60H-1' as the prize for the recent jewie social on the Hawksbury. The rod features a fast tapered E-glass blank with a softish tip and a stumpuller butt. I have built this to suit a big threadline like a 6500 baitrunner. The rod features a machined alloy gimbal, graphite reel seat with heavy duty machined hoods and a heavy duty tip with a flanged SiC ring. Please join me in congratulating fellow fishraider KANGAROO WALK for being the lucky winner. The second rod is the 'KR Livebait 60M-1'. This is the medium power in the same range as above. I have used a standard graphite reel seat on this and a machined alloy gimball. This is a demo rod and available for testing. It is suited to a reel in the 4500 baitrunner class. I recently built one of these as a spiral wrapped overhead livebait stick which went on to catch a 42kg yellowfin on 20lb braid. I have also caught a 15kg golden trevally, coral trout to 7kg, various emperors upto 5kg, potato cod of about 30kg, spaniards and a 50kg yellowfin trolling baitfishing in Fiji and QLD on the prototype I built some time back. kangaroowalk Posted October 14, 2006 Posted October 14, 2006 Gday Saqa It looks fantastic, all i can hope is that i can do it justice. I do apologise for my late reply as the build up to the weekend was very hectic. I do thank all that was involved in the planning of the weekend, it was great and it was even better getting out there and relaxing, the shock of actually winning is still sinking in. Hope to see you all at the next outing. Take care and keep it safe,,,, always Kangaroowalk
