Chrome Finish On A Rod Blank

Ive be offered enough product to chrome a carbon fishing rod blank , iam tossing up whether to do it or not ,its not a joke its not cheap to buy ,i can get it done as a demo ,will flex with out cracking and have a mirror finish ,any thoughts .

all up 4 dust cotes ,so no thicker than normal clear coat iam thing hard about doing it to the spiral iam building ,

the rod is chromed this is the best i can get the photos to come out as the blanks to bright ,

Looks good in that last photo . has it bonded to the blank ok? no weakness? Does it lift when peeling masking tape off?

why not ,you have got to have some fun as you cant look at it in the sun , you can do a lot with it as a base for candys or pearl crystals in some pretty wild effects on custom rods .

Jethro this the site with all the info you will need ,iam lucky to work in the trade and get a lot of freebies and demos of the newest additives on the US market ,these can be added to the second or first coat of epoxy when you want some wild effects ,most need sun to hit them and then they jump out at you , the chrome rod is not what most would want but im not like most . How much preparation did the blank require. Does it want to peel off. I wonder if the shadow chrome look can be achieved. I reckon this would look awesome on a particular blank I am very fond of

it is as tough if not tougher than the clear coat on up market blanks , shadow chrome can be achieved by using less gloss on the first base coat .the higher the gloss on the first coat the brighter the chrome is at the end .we did tame the blank down a touch as it was burring your eyes in the sun ,

id love for you to go nuts on a rod for me, doesnt need to be expensive parts. but stick all the crazy curry butt/crome/ disco balls/pictures and writting you want on it.

i will proudly show it off as a rohit original demonstrator model.

Its too nice to let go. I might have to run away to the south coast with it. is already asking why couldnt i have done her one like that. I belive I have succeded in keeping it very tastefull and loud is it s possible to have both
