Well, yesterday me and tom (lurespinner) went out on a charter to chase some kings.

He met us at balmoral at 6 and we went to get some squid, the squid were not really co operating so we went to see if there was much action around clifton gardens, we got there to see one guy hooked up on a king .

Had a few casts and tom was 1st to hookup, on 4lb fireline with 4lb trace, :yahoo:

after a few sizzling runs we got him to the boat , toms first ever king, even better on 4lb!

I was next to hookup on 10lb , the reel decided to die at that exzact moment :05: , handle becommin stuck and the anti reverse not working... :mad3: , after a bit of a struggle i got him into the boat my first king for the season :biggrin2:

After that we went back to see if we could get some more squid, finally got three :biggrin2:

Then caught some yakkas at the remaining wedding cake.

Went back to clifton for a hot bite, over the next 2 hours we managed to land another 8 , get busted off twice and miss a good run. :yahoo::yahoo:

Tom managed to land the only legal king for the day

That would have been the best fishing i have ever expirienced:), couldnt think of a better way to spend a day.

Well done on the Kings

That Navy boat in the background in one of the pics, told us to move

away from the jetty there, and that there were no fish there coz the

Navy boys had caught em all,so we were wasting our time.

I then picked up a 71 and 75cm(i think)King from our kill tank and said

"Oh yeh".U should of seen the look on his face.

In fact thats the 2 Kings in my avatar to ur left.

Hey Rob

Mate good to see you getting into the kingys yesterday. I could hear the Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz from your BTR from over 20m's away and its a LOVELLLY sound. You pump the rod mate!!!!!!!! :1prop::1prop::1prop:

Hmmmmmmmm just one thing after all the kingys you guys caught could you perhaps smile in the photo's in future????? :1prop: Cheers Mate

We got our dozen or so rats like you, pity they were all 50-58cm GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR, had me measuring every single one. Good fun all the same though!

Hey Penguin well done on getting your 70+cm models, but Id be bloody careful going in close as that Navy Patrol Boat, carries a private secuirty guard 24hrs a day 7 days a week, an that guard does have the power to arrest an detain you till a Police launch arrives. Which wont take long! So well done on those kingys but dont piss those navy boys off, as the guard shack at Clifton gardens has an unimpeded view of the water, so be warned, play niice if they ask you to move Id do it..if you want to keep :1fishing1::1fishing1:

Well done again Rob on the kingys, that has to be your best session sofar mate.

What peeved me off about that bearded capt of that Navy boat was, that last time we were

there we were told by the water police if we stay outside the yellow bouys we are doin

nothing wrong. We were just outside these buoys by about 2 boat lengths(10mtrs) and this

old f@rt says"I dont care what the police said move further away".So we did,and i called out"Is

this enuf",the young navy guy gives us the thumbs up,the old f@rt says ,"No move away more".

I say,"To where, where would u like?".Then he starts telling us to draw an imaginary line from that

rock on the shore there to that buoy over there, then do a 90 degree turn to that rock on that shore.

I said to him y dont u put the yellow keep out buoys there, then people wouldnt have to draw

imaginary lines, how are the public supposed to know. The young bloke behind him couldnt

believe what this old capt wanted, and just stood there shaking his head,as were we.

One of my fishing buddies said to me,thats what u get for embarrising the old goat with those Kings.

I still get the shits over that incident whenever i think about it.

I will continue to "cough' fish the area the same way I have in the past. But dont get sprun, an pray to gawd the guard onboard the Navy Patrol Boat doesnt know you,,,, :1badmood:

That floating drum is where the imaginary line does a 90 degree

turn towards some rock on shore.

How imaginaraly sad.
