Penguin
Hi raiders, fished Syd harbour 2day,1st off trolled out to bluefish and back for not much.Drifted off Nth head caught a couple of 35cm Sweep, and a heap of other spikey red fish. Went to Clifton gardens saw a blue familiar lookin boat there, after a bit, that boat left and passed us by and had a good look at us, I had a good look at them and it was CFD and Sammy, but they were gone b4 I could say hi. They came back some time later and we spoke to each other. Anyway while at Clifton we saw 1 King landed on the wharf,we caught 1 Bonnie,2 sambos,1 Trev,7 Flatties and 9 of what I call Sole,my mate insists it Flounder.Caught many more undersize fish all returned. We hooked on bait 5 Kings, and all were lost 2 pulled the hooks,1 lost on our anchor rope,1 tangled some of our lines and then pop,and the other swam under our boat and my mates line rubbed against our keel and pop again, all these Kings were pulled in close to the boat and visualy seen,so we know they were Kings.I had a whole pilchard on a 2 hook rig under a float that went for a short swim, but got spat back out.I threw a 20cm shad around the place whenever fish would bust up around us,I got hit on the surface by a King who emmediately released my shad, another time my shad got hit and released on the surface again, by a Salmon this time, who had 2 others flanking him.All went quiet after a while,so we went off to the other side of the harbour for a ride on my other boat. Its engines are new so I take it for a spin once or twice a week till I run them in.While cruising around Bill throws a couple of lures out the back and by the time we return to our berth he has himself a Sambo and a Bonito. Was a good all round day plenty of action plenty of fish and a fun day. Cant wait for this Sundays social. penguin My Salmon and Georges Bonito Bill and a Salmon, and part of our catch Bills Sambo and Bonnie Edited January 16, 2007 by penguin

Guest IFishSick.
Sounds like a great day out with a lovely bag of fish. With those Flounder, are they upside down or just look funny with the flash or something? Pity about losing so many fish boatside but that's the way it goes. Little_Flatty
Nice catch Mr Penguin! i think those are flounder aswell I second the flounder claim. From what I understand Flounder have a typical fish shaped tail where as a Sole's tail would end in a point. Flattieman - can you shed any light on this?
