davec84 Posted June 4, 2007 Posted June 4, 2007 g'day guys got a few telescopic rods i used for squidding but 2 of them are snapped at the tip i was wondering if i could just buy a solid glass blank and use it as the tip ive broken the tip part of the rod. cheers
kiwi waynie Posted June 4, 2007 Posted June 4, 2007 Hey Davec84, I think you would be best off taking em down to a tackle shop and see if they got a tip guide you can fit to existing tip section. Or just replace the rods you can get some pretty cheap telescopic rods these days. Lata Raida. Waynie
arpie Posted June 5, 2007 Posted June 5, 2007 (edited) Hi Dave What length is/was your telescopic? How far down that first section did it break? If the break isn't too far down from the tip, I'd just put another tip on! They are usually fairly flexible anyway - the strength is usually in the but! Or, just unscrew the bottom of the handle & take the tip out & see if you have a busted rod tip length to replace it with - should do the trick. (I keep all sorts of busted bits for other repairs.) Just slide it up the 2nd last bit & put on a new tip! Should work. Cheers Roberta Forgot to say to use a solid tip! They are usually solid. Should be able to find an old glass rod to chop down for a couple of bucks at garage sales or junk shops?? Edited June 5, 2007 by Roberta
