The Iceman
I spend sometime up around Gladstone which has similar fishing to Mackay The smaller outfits we use for fish such as blue salmon javelin fish estuary cod queenfish and various trevally species which are the fish you are most likely to catch in the estuarys are 1.8-2.2m 3-5kg and 4-6kg rods 4000 size spinning reels and 4-7kg fireline These outfits will also handle the school and spotty mackeral if you get outside Hope this helps
