mitch
OK it's time for the Tuppawear jokes again. After a fair bit of consideration and looking around I am about 90% sure on Buying a new Poly. I have done a bit of shopping around and so far it is looking like this. Boat, Trailer, Motor, Rego, 55lb MinKota .........$10,200 All except the Leccy were through Yabbie Marine with the discount and the lecy price is lowest I could find and was through ABA. Boat is the 4.1m challenger open boat $3650 Motor is 30hp 2 stroke Suzuki $3600 Trailer $1350 55lb Minkota RT bow mount $1369 As for building the deck and livewells etc... I will do that stuff myself and will definatly be asking a lot of questions from you that have already done the same. I am unsure which sounder to go with at the moment....open to suggestions.. Does this sound good to you that already own poly's or boats in general. I am only very new to the boating scene and could do with any help possible. Cheers, Mitch
Rick T
Don't reckon u could find a better bang for your buck with that rig I know sometimes it is hard to come up with an extra grand but see if u can to put a 40 (I think that is the max) on the back. Its a lot more expensive to upgrade later on and there is usually something u can compramise on like the sounder that can be put on at a later date. Only regret with my boat was not puting the 50 on. Pay a bit extra and go with a reasonable sounder from lowrance/humminbird range. u will only want to get a better one later on if don't get a reasonable one now. Nice work on supporting Fishraiders sponsors
Bashir
Rick is right saying get the best you can now. I'm currently looking at changing outboards and sounders myself and its an expensive thing to do. Seems like good value anyway, I'd be getting a poly too if I wanted a breaming boat.
