I have just found out that my good buddy, and fellow Raider Crazy John,

has taken a fall during renovations to his beauty parlour, and put his hand

through a brand new pane of glass that the glaziers were about to instal. :1badmood::05:

Get that hand well soon mate, its hard to fish one handed.

Heres a pic of the repair job.

the doc said i wont be able to use it for 4 weeks.

one week has gone now, i take my stitches out tomorrow.

you could see my bone exposed and my pinkys skin was split in 2 directions, lucky for my mother in law fast thinking to wrap it in a towel a tie a towel around my wrist i managed to save it.

what can i say, a hell of a lesson to be learnt.

Geeeze you sure don't muck around when you want a sick day do ya!!!!

Hope the surgeon only used braid, checked the breaking strain and what knots are those - got enough twists.

Hope you heal up fast and don't have numb spots lon a fingertip like I've got.

Mate, what a month we are having.

I've just pulled the remainder of the stiches out of my hand and will hopefully get them wet in the shower tonight (Its the small things you miss)

The stuff they stiched you up with must be on special as the Doc did the same with me.

Hopefully I can clean it up a bit.

How ironic is that !, I have been reading heaps of reports and posts since I have been stuck in Canberra and it seems just that. Except for that rather smallish 80kg YFT and a few 20-30 kg ones popping up, it seems that the weather Gods really have stuck it to the Raiders. As much as it reaaly makes for a good read- and its great to picture the excitement, knowing that I haven't missed out on too much, prevents the depression from going to critical!Especially looking at my new winch from Wattos that hasn't moved from its box!

Look after your hand mate and all will be good. Then we can ask the fishing Gods for good weather :1prop:

By the way, keep the piece of stainless in your pinkie as me and Pete are going to have a fish-off at Narra Lake. You and me with our newly made surgical stainless hooks, and Pete and Penguin with their famous rusty nails.

Cheers,

Stumpy
