Luringbream Posted August 3, 2007 Posted August 3, 2007 Since im heading out to the show tomorrow, it seems like a good idea to get a closer look and feel of a few rods that i can match against my Twinpower 8000(when i finally decide to buy it!!!) So what rod do you recomend to match against an 8000 Shimano Twinpower? It will be used for, trolling, jigging, cubing, and bottom bashing. DAN
wildfish Posted August 3, 2007 Posted August 3, 2007 mate, i recon youll be able to pull out a few bream with that!
TheDiko Posted August 3, 2007 Posted August 3, 2007 Tcurve Jig Spin 200 (24kg) Tcurve Bluewater Spin (10 - 15kg) or (15 - 24kg) They should do, high quality rods to go with a high quality reel. What line are you putting on it LB? IFS
gretsch Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 mate, i recon youll be able to pull out a few bream with that!
netic Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 Mate get yourself a 15kg Rapala braid composite....what a rod...smashes the jigsticks for feel and qulaity...I was the biggest jigstick fan until i saw these rods..... Make sure you go see one and load it up and then trsut me..you will b sold on them
ant180 Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 I can vouch for the Rapala rods. They are top quality rods, with great Fuji components, spined properly and with perfect guide spacing. They are super light with no massive, excessive grips that are sometimes seen on other rods. They are rated a little higher than an equivalent shimano though, e.g. I wouldn't push much more than the recommended line rating.
KingsRule Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 Hey guys, these rapala rods seem pretty nice, they look good in the pictures to. Hows the pricing on them?
netic Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 Mate pricing is awesome...got mine for $220......15-25kg spin stick...
james1990 Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 (edited) Myself and domza picked up one of these rapala rods in a fishing shop a few months back and bloody hell, very light and the grips Very nice cheers james Edited August 6, 2007 by james1990
davester28 Posted August 7, 2007 Posted August 7, 2007 Ditto the Rapala. My TP 8000 is matched with the Rapala 20 - 40lb, 6' 6" rod. Good all round "do everything" rod, (big plastics, bottom bashing, light jigging, casting). However, as it is "do everything", it tends to be a compromise. Eg. It won't cast as far as a 7' 6" popping rod, nor will it handle heavy jigs (prob 150 - 180g max). For purely bottom bashing and jigging, I also have a Daiwa Saltist 56S 8/10 (5' 6", PE 5, up to 330g jig weight) which is another great match.
Luringbream Posted August 8, 2007 Author Posted August 8, 2007 Thanks for the replies guys. Where abouts did you purchase it netic? DAN
