RockHoppin
Hey guys, Summers just around the corner and I'm looking at filling 2 new spin reels with some nice braid. Anyone have any preferences here? Being a rockhopper line abrasion is a big factor for me so would like to hear your thoughts on this. Cheers
Guest Big-Banana
Off the rocks I'd be going for mono, definitely Tortue. But if you really want braid, none better than TUF.

Yep definitely agree there. Been a mono man all these years but casting 40lb mono aint no fun and you cant really fit much on your spool unless you're using an alvey so some tough braid with a nice mono shock leader is what Im looking at here. kinghazza
mate u should give "siglon tough" a go, its got an ultra fine diameter compared to any other line so 40lb has the thickness of 30 lb roughly.
Nolongeramember
Best braid- Rapala Titanium Braid For abraision resistance the slightly thicker Rapala Braid Core. Ive tested this stuff out alot and its good. Very strong. I can use a 30LB leader on the end of my 15LB braid and the mono leader will still snap first. gretsch
For heavy outfits, we use Platil Millennium or Finns For the light stuff, 4-10lb Fireline and I have some Nitlon PE in 6 and 8lb. They all work well except the Nitlon PE in the lighter grades tends to tangle around your tip when fishing soft plastics.

caranx
I use 50lb tuf line when spinning for kings. Works a treat. Never had an issue and its not as expensive as other brands .
