Hi snapper hunter

Where the southern end of the beach abuts up with the northern breakwall........

apperantly is doing quite well for a few or the recognised ocean species also its easy to cross the wall

and thats a good possie to fish the river there also which opens up your options even further...

no idea how you actually get there i think you have to go back to the main road and come in from scotts head end?? maybe some one could clarify...

good luck on the charter for the weekend the charter boys have been having good result's of late

on the fishing grounds and hope to read a report on your return.....

Cheers Warnie......

G'day Snapper Hunter,

The guys have given you some good info there.

Lately the beaches have been pretty slow, so the rocks would be your best bet for an arvo session.

For easy rock fishing (easy walk, no huge hills) try the front of the jail, head south a bit and you'll find some likely deep water at the southern point.

For a more serious mission head south as Noisy said, below the lighthouse or (touuch easier) North Gap. Pretty serious water with potential for big jews if ya keen.

One avro just isn't enough time to explore SWR's!

Fingers crossed for a calm day on your offshore charter, she's been blowing a bit lately.

Cheers

Phil

snapper hunter...yeah big swells at the moment at swr..but keep ur eye on it..the big rock you saw near the beach is called black rock...if you fish of the beach chase the standard fish ...if you have a boat look for spanish, cobia ,kings..and ALWAYS expect the un expected...any where near the light house rock or beach you will get fish....bob

Years ago at Easter we use to fish the rock late arvo into the night for tailor

got the occassional bream and flathead but also saw Kingies there :1yikes:

mongrels wouldn't take the pillies would they :mad3:

The break wall has been known to hold some good flathead and Jew

Floating baits out at the back of the goal could produce cobia and mackeral

Smokey Cape beach near the lighthouse use to produce Jew ( nice walk :biggrin2: )

Good fishing

Chris
