Family day on sunday so myself, mrs and son headed off to Chinamens beach for a bit of a swim, picnic, frolic, I sneakily put the bream rod in the car and a few placcies and stuff, after arriving sneaked off to the western end and started throwing a gulp worm on a 1/11 nitro for a few half hearted hits when the rod loaded up and the drag started peeling a bit, strange fight no sideways movement only directly backwards, squid I started to think, well the end result after a few nervous moments a pb squid for me was landed on a bloody gulp worm pinned throught the long tentacle, total length was 62cm and mantle length was 36cm, sure tasted great lasnight, cheers Justin. smick squid there mate, well done, a mate of mine got some hits on the gulp sandworms as did i in qld, i reckong one on a squid prong would be a regular squid catcher, must be the scent.
