stylo
With daylight savings time, took a drive to Narra Lakes and landed a lot of undersized bream with prawn/peeled prawn. In no time, these fellas will be legal so all were released to fight another day hopefully everyone else does the same ... The tide was at the bottom of low coming into high and there was a lot of night activity in the water which was a good sign - I could not rig up fast enough Landed one thumper (for me) which was legal at 26cm which fought pretty hard and almost snagged me .. It was also released to fight another day - check out the battle scar on him. Looks like he got a bit of him chewed off when he was a little fella ! Love this weather! Les yes the date on my camera has been set incorrectly ..
Tony Soprano
Good stuff mate... I think you'll find the dent in the top of its head is the result of him escaping a net at some stage... I've seen quite a few bream with the same dent and believe it is a result of trawling nets... Cheers Tony

We thought something had taken a bite at them.. but it does happen a little too frequently for that to be a feasible explanation! Anyone know what it is?!?! Trawler nets make sense.. GregL
My vote is net damage. We catch plenty in the Harbour like that but hardly any like that in the Hawkesbury???? For tho's that don't think catch and release works, what do you have to say about them apples! We use to hate weighing them ones in comps, always feel ripped off with the chunk missing! stylo
This 'chunk off the shoulder / dent' is a first for me .. I've caught bigger and smaller variants of the bream and they have never had this modification ..
