suttonscurse
up at dawn and headed out from the St George Motor Boat club looking for the expected run of Bream ( Can someone please tell the bream that they are supposed to here now for the summer spawning) - tried all the spots and only managed 3 whiting (caught on peeled prawn) - what was most surprising that we weren't even annoyed by the usual hungry hordes of small snapper - Water was fairly cold and a lot of ribbon weed floating around on top of the water. Beautiful day on the water but 5 hours for 3 fish is somewhat displeasing. Might try Port Hacking next weekend ( the Bays been quiet for a while now) - Can anyone tell me if Grays point ramp is open , and what action is happening down there with the fish regards Bill Edited November 11, 2007 by Suttons Curse
Bentstik
I know how you feel. Went out yesterday for the same result less the whiting. Cheers Bentstik
Penguin
Mate the Bay was firing for us this arvo, We were on the water for 3hrs and fished for 2 of these for 30 odd legal fish, and water temp was 20deg. Maybe u guys were just unlucky, or not in the right spot. penguin
brendong
I checked grays point ramp late this afternoon to see one lane open and about 10 to 15 boats lined up waiting to be pulled out....it was crazy....still sections under temporary fencing....looks like the new warf/ponton is being used though..... suttonscurse
Thanks penguin . You must have got your fish bottom of the tide . We tried the oil wharf early , top of the tide for no result. I should have slept in and also had a liesurely afternoon fish as well . regards Bill
