rodf
Howdy All, I want to upgrade my b/w Lowrance X52 to a color Lowrance - probably an X510c - and was wondering whether you learned folk, who may have done a simliar thing, know if I can use the same transducer and electrical cables?? The Lowrance units appear to have the same 3 connectors on the back, same screw-on fittings, so I'm hoping I can just replace the display without having to re-run/re-install the transducer and electrical connections. I have checked with Lowrance in the US who say I can do a straight swap of the units, but I have also heard from some techo's here in Australia who reckon I can't. I'm confused, so I'd appreciate any help. Cheers, Rod

I took there word for it but if the techs in the uS are telling you otherwise?
netic
Mate i could only presume that as sounder tech improves with newer models so does transducer technology.....i would get the lastest transducer with a new sounder
a boat
Hi Rod, I am 99% sure that they will not be compatible. The new unit should come with a new transducer and all you have to do is remove the old one and route the new one-not that big a job. Cheers, Huey. rodf
Thanks Guys, Good advice/logic here, so I've given up the lazy attitude and decided to get the entire unit. Cheers, Rod
