Top Latest Hi Tech Lures Advise Required

Hi everyone.

I require advice as to which of the latest hi tech lures members have actually used and found to have the best success rates. For example our bass specialists may recommend their best performing bass lures and our bream and flathead fishermen their best performing lures for bream and flathead, and so on to whiting, tailor, pelagics etc.

I wanted to buy a special Christmas present this year for my 10 year old grandson Little Jewgaffer in the form of an attractive large lure pack and I need information on good quality lure storage bags with compartments for flies, soft plastics packs and hardbodies.

I wanted the lures to be of the best quality to include everything from trout to tailor to marlin so that he would have a range of general lures for the future.

I want him to have the best for all the time and assistance he has given me from the time I fell and fractured a couple of back vertebra, when he was only six years old and all the enthusiasm he has shown to get me out fishing and boating regularly after my back operation.

He has been my right hand man and has done all the carrying like a little pack horse setting us up on a beaches, river banks etc , and he will not hesitate to run off and come back with nippers and bait like cungee and rock crabs. One day when we went down from Campbelltown to Maroubra to meet Vass(Bigfoot) and a couple of other raiders, Little Jewgaffer must have run a couple of kilometres around the beach and rocks and tapped just about everyone on the shoulder and asked them if they had seen any fishermen until he finally located Bigfoot when he asked a big bloke carrying a rod if he was a Fishraider. That's not a bad show of keenness and willingness to help from a grandson.

He looks after his fishing gear and tackle and I am going to take him out deep sea fishing one day in the future. He absolutely loves boating, camping and all the outdoor stuff.

It would be great if members could provide a link to pics of fish they caught with their favourite hi tech lure rather than post any pics in repies.

I would be then able to show Little Jewgaffer the fish caught by our best fishermen using the same lures!

Cheers and thanks

hey mate,

Now i'm no expert but have been reading up and listening to advice from bream fishos on the better hard body lures for this species. Now this is in no particular order and i think depends on the day and where you are fishing but........

HB's

SX 40's or 48's

Smith Camion

Jackall Chubby

Bassday

SP's

Gulp camo worms or 2'' shrimp

Berkley 3''power minnow in pearl watermelon

Good luck with it all ( your grandson will really appreciate the gift )

Billy

PS do a search if you need more info.

Hi jewgaffer....

when it comes to thinking about what lure to have in Little Jewgaffer's collection in regards to game fishing

there would be quite a few that pop up......bearing in mind little jewgaffer might not have the

oppartunity to do it all that often.....so to cover virtually all species he would be likely to come across

that swim and feed out there..And push changes to shove and if it has to be one choice then im going

to make it the cocky in the colour combo evil......

as the most versitile all round lure......

i dont know how to provide a link but if you throw me an email address i would be more than happy

to send a pic or two of a marlin caught with said fore mentioned lure for him.....

Cheers Warnie.....

Hi Warnie Thanks heaps for the lure advice and the email of the hook up photos for Little Jewgaffer. Those marlin and sailfish in the photos are really awesome

He took one look at the photos and luvs the cocky lure and the sound of the word evil colours and he tells me we can even add one as a loaded teaser on our kingfish rigs?

Also thanks young Brownie the Rapala CD9's for tailor will be added.

Thanks Stewy for the T/T gold spinner baits for bass.

Thanks 1975 he says he wants a couple of those.

Thanks flathead fanatic he is going to pm Crystalizer for his three best hi techs.

Thanks for the knowledgable help so far and the names of the latest proven performers.

Cheers

A few of my favourites:

Jackalls for bass.

Sluggos for kings, Zoom stickbaits when they are picky.

X-Raps for anything big enough.

Halco Rooster Poppers for anything big enough.

Yo-Zuri and Yamashita squid jigs.

the whole berkeley gulp and range of plastics works. you cant go wrong with any of them!

Hardly high tech but Raiders for metal lures (original Raiders not rip-offs)

gee i can think of a zillion that ive tried and these have been some of the many that have worked!
