Live Bait Pump

My live bait pump is making a strange noise. It is less than a year old.

I am going to have to replace it and was wondering which ones are the most reliable. I would prefer a self priming pump which can ne kept on whilst motoring along.

Have you checked if its picked up a bit of crap that could be causing it to be noisy?

Rule are the best pumps IMO.

I agree, although the Johnson in my Quintrex appears to be the original which is now 7 yrs old?

I have had a look.. it seems to be clear. Maybe I will take it off the mount and flush it.

You must be one of the lucky ones mate. All the johnsons I had clapped out well within 12 months

I have the similair year model to achjimmy and mine is still good

But it will be up graded for safety reasons

i am going to throw a float switch on my Johno bilge pump and put a rule 1500 in as the "manual" bilge pump. i remember reading something by Ross Hunter where he suggested 2 bilge pumps for safety?
