PJ Garn
Hi again guys Just another pre-curser as to where this one came from... on the pommy Carp site that I also post on there was some debate entered into about blanking and as a result I promised them this poem!!! Well on Saturday last 8th December, I spent a pleasant few hours on the Nepean again after having to work the morning!!! I blanked... in fact I didn't even have a bite!!! So here it is for all you BLANKERS!!!! Enjoy!!! A Blanking Good Day I blanked today, Yes, I failed to land, A fishy creature, To my hand!!! So what went wrong... Was it my new spot... Or the barometer reading? It should matter not!!! My new spot!!! Nice eh??? Was the weather too warm, Or the water too brown? Just some of the reasons, To make me frown! Now the water I chose, I know they are in, Because I saw them cruising, On a Carpy fin. So was it was my baits, Corn, Boilies and bread, Maybe this was the reason, I couldn’t raise a head. Did I arrive too early, Or maybe just late, Had they already eaten, Another likely debate. Some would consider, (Non anglers) This day, a complete waste, They don’t really get it... Their opinions made in haste. So now I understand, Can I be quite frank, I appreciate the fact, That sometimes we must blank. Now, as we true Anglers, Think, but don’t often say, I caught absolutely nothing But had a blanking good day! Macro of my baitrunner!!! NB. A non yellow buttrest!!! fishy
truly great offer, and as a fly fisherman ( and fisher for alot of things), i really appreciate your efforts. Basically I'm trying to say I can relate to this and I don't think I'm will be the only one out there. Thanks PJ ( Go out west and try some of our national rivers like the MacQaurie,Lachlan or some of the impoundments if you are after that 10 to 20kg fish, not uncommon out there.) vipernut
Another top post Pj, Even if you didnt catch anything,Still great to be on the water. That is one very nice looking location to spend a few hours relaxing, waiting/hoping for a bite. Stephen p.s. Hoping to try a spot over the weekend that i think may hold some carp. Not 100% sure if i will make it as the is working and i will have the kids..Will post if i make it out. Hi Fishythings I appreciate you kind words of support!!! I'm too a flyfisher and have spent hours seemingly casting to nothing... so much effort goes into each and every cast to get the presentation perfect!!! FRUSTRATING but fishing!!! I sure must get out West to tussle with some of those HUGE Carp!!! Cheers Another top post Pj, Even if you didnt catch anything,Still great to be on the water.
