russel_pollard
Fishos QQ What would be in your esteemed opinion be the best way to rig livies such as Yellowtail. Im currently pinning them just behind the head and suspending them about a meter and a half under a weighted float. The poor littel bugger does a pretty good job of towing the float around, perhaps too good as they seem to be able to flee the area Im focusing on and constantly casting them out cant help their health! Squid - same as above?
tomahawk1999
Hey Zuluboy, pin your yakka's just below the dorsal fin and above the lateral line and they will swim around happily for hours. If you let the bobby cork slide on the leader and use a wind on leader of around 4metres you can use the joining knot as a stopper for the bobby cork and still be able to cast. Don't worry too much about them towing the float around I have alway's found a fiesty livie outfishes a half dead one any day. You can alway's take advantage of a breeze to keep your bait in the zone if one exists by using a balloon with a light breakoff instead of the bobby cork. Pin your squid through the tip of the hood and they will live for a good while. Tight lines, Rod.

Land & boat based - but been using the float from the land, havent had a chance to fish livies from the tinnie yet but aim to this weekend. As for catch - anything and everything but would like to catch my first Ozzie Kingy if poss or a decent sized Tailor Hey Zuluboy, pin your yakka's just below the dorsal fin and above the lateral line and they will swim around happily for hours. russel_pollard
Mate trim there tails....that will restrict them from swimming around all over the place Did that but only the bottom half to keep them at the depth of the float line - I suppose if I trim a bit of the top that should do the trick!
