OSHISWET Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 (edited) Hi guys ! I took the kids out today for a bash on the harbour. What a day, perfect conditions. I arrived at Tunks park boat ramp at 6am and was met by an army of keen fishos, there was enough craft and tackle here to fill a warehouse. The carpark was chockers, a far cry from my mid week trips where basically you have the place to yourself. My son Ray caught a beautiful squid from around the kelp beds on a pink yozuri but this was the only one caught after many lure changes and different locations tried. We did some trolling for zilch, no bird action anywhere. North Head was a popular spot today with many boats out there but we did not see anyone catch any fish. What happened to the yellow marker just outside of Quarantine Bay? ITS GONE. Sow and Pigs was packed as was the Wedding cake marker. We witnessed one small kingie being caught here. To end the day we set some nice baits down in the hope of catching some jewies and my son Jason caught a beautiful Blue swimmer crab. It was delicious. I was pleased to meet Kiwi Dan back at the ramp. He also said that the fishing was tough today. Any way we had a top day out and my boys and I will keep on trying. squidboy Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 The water was fantastic today. We tried squid at every marker and only managed one king. We also got 6 leather jackets, 1 eel, 1 finger mark and some rock cod fish. Pretty average day but very fun to be out in the water. Was that you anchored at NH with the fishraider stickers?
fishmaniac Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 Hey fellow raiders! I was also at Nth Head today, out in the tinnie. Tried bottom bashing and trolling to no avail also, it seems the blue wtar present about a week or two ago has eased back off the coast. It was fantastic conditions despite a bit of a sloppy swell. Amazing the traffic at the ramps at 6am ay?! I managed 7 calamari for the day, nice size mind u, all around the 1-1.5kg mark 3 whiting and a snapper for the keeper list.

Kiwi Dan Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 Gday mate, Always great to meet another Raider. As you pointed out our day was S@#! as well. We had live and fresh squid, live yakkas, pillies, lures, soft plastics and whatever you could think of but nothing took. We trawled from North head right around to Manly and back for zilch we fished half the markers and clifton for zilch and then we downrigged MH for another couple hours for zilch. I guess if there not around there just not around!! See you on the water again soon lumpookey. Cheers Dan
