The Poacher
After a few good trips my beach fishing luck ran out with the dud combination of low water, scattered kelp and a rising swell. Not even any bites. Next weekend the tides are great but the swell is meant to be massive Still made it home in time to watch the sunday night movie. It happens to me quite a lot. What were the specs of your Harbour king? I'm trying to decide how to cast my vote for FOTM. I love your photo but I think the new one may have been bigger. The Poacher
Hi Livo, I haven't caught any trophy kings out of the harbour - you must be thinking of someone else. Mine are all 75-80cm. Poacher
roosterman
hi poacher, i did a beach session sat night and conditions were really good with very fishy looking gutter etc but ran out of livies to the 3 rays an 3 shovels i got... i backed up sun night and had va911 another raider join me... how different the 2 nights were, liveys were very hard to come by an didnt come on the bite for a couple hours then hit the beach and the water was crap, rising swell an whitewater washing over where there was once a nice gutter.. persisted with it but nothing but current/weed and dissapointment... looks like no beach sessions for a while but will be good as beaches will get new gutters etc forming hopefully..... cheers... steve..... The Poacher
Sounds like the beaches are quiet all round. Tides are good next Sat or Sunday night. If the swell moderates a bit, could be ideal time for jew on the dark of the moon. Like you said Roosterman, the swell will shift things around and get the fish in close again. sandy ripples
Hi all Ive been waiting for a bit of swell to stir things up, its been a while, like roosterman and the poacher said things should really start hotting up once it sorts its self out a bit. Snapper and Jew come in close to clean up a bit. Kilacarp
