Fishing Flu

G'day Raiders

I've been a little busy with the obvious festive season and hence haven't had the time to get on and do much for the past week or so!!! Although I have had time to write another couple of poems!!!

I wrote this one on a session that I had on my lovely little river just before Christmas... nothing to talk of fish wise (I blanked and managed to wet my bite bite alarms, electronic scales and mobile phone as I was wading and exploring a few islands on the river... luckily I was able to revive all items except the phone!!!) but that doesn't matter really... does it!?

I'm interested to find out if any of you have suffered the same affliction???? ;);)

Fishing Flu

I’ve got this aliment,

I’m feeling quite ill,

I doubt it’ll be fixed,

By tablet or pill.

In my dreams you feature,

All through the long night,

At the end of my rod,

My lines nice and tight!!!

And when I wake from my sleep,

Instead of just yawning,

There’s a feeling inside,

I’d call it a gnawing.

There’s a remedy I’ve found,

It helps just a little,

When my gear sits all dry,

I sit, think and fiddle.

And for some extra relief,

I bury my head in fishing books,

But it’s just not the same,

As setting my hooks!!!

In my mind I create,

Perfect situations,

For my rigs and my baits,

In picturesque locations.

But I still feel sick,

In need of a cure,

Off to the river...

I’ll feel better for sure!

And just as I’d thought,

My fever... it goes!

I feel “Bloody Terrific”

From my head to my toes.

Now I understand,

Just what it takes,

To clear my stuffy head,

And get rid of the shakes.

So next time you feel,

The way that I do,

You’ve probably contracted,

A dose of my Fishing Flu!!!

The spot I ended up at with my wet bite alarms, etc!!!

I think this is a Little Egret!!! I took this on the way back to the car after my days blanking!!!

Cheers as always

Once again, nice poem PJ.

I certainly have a severe case of the fishing flu :1prop:

So when is the book being released?

I reckon every poem of yours that I have read has been top notch and would certainly hit the spot with anyone that has ever wet a line.

Cheers,

Graham

Mate I'm working on the poetry but don't know how many I need to make it a viable proposition??? I'm also taking photos but with my $199 special I don't think the quality is good enough... what I need is an SLR digital but just can't afford it presently!!! I've got the title for the book already but guess I'll have to keep plugging till I feel ready!!! :yahoo:

Cheers

Cheers Tony

I know I've got to invest in a new camera!!! I feel I'm merely the conduit, nature creates and I just snap away!!! Great isn't it!!!!

Thanks for your kind words.
