Live Bait Rig For Jewies From The Rocks.

I fish off a breakwall for Jew at night. There is always a strong current and in the past I have had no luck with using live bait so haven't used it now for a while. When I have tried to use live bait they have always either swam me into a snag or twisted my rig into oblivion. I am wondering what rig suggestion people think I could use?

hi skramp

the rig i use of breakwall with lives is

swivel ,sinker of choice ,swivel and a short leader 30cm

seems to work ok for me

and i fish an hour either side of the tide when the current is the slowest

when fishing from the wall you will always lose riggs theres nothing you can

really do to stop it

cheers

Hi Mate

I agree with above, most of my jewies i get 2 hrs each side of the high or low. when the current isnt running as hard.

everyone has a different jew rig. in your situation you may try this "see pic"

main line tied to a ring then line from the ring down to a snapper lead (set to desired length off the bottom)

a smaller ring above atatched to your hook or hooks

this will allow your livie to still swim up and down, but you will be able to have a heavey sinker to keep him in one spot!!! i think this might minimise tangles

you may also want to use line, as light a possible down to your sinker so your sinker can snap off should it get snagged or you get a big strike
