Believe It Or Not

Ok guys, I probably wouldn't have believed it had I not seen it with my own eyes. I've just returned from fishing the Gosford end of Paddy's Channel and while being anchored in about 6 metres of water we saw what looked to be a Mack Tuna of about 90cm free jump while crashing through a school of mullet. The only time I have witnessed such a display was in Port Stephens with the Northern Blue fin but I never expected it in Brisbane Waters particularly so far up river......Just amazing.

Anyone had similiar experience with a fish of this size and type up river???

Mack Tuna & Longtails come well inside after bait. I have seen Longtails down around the moorings near Bayview Boat Ramp in Pittwater as well as macks. I have got a few Mack tuna up in Cowan as far in as Apple Tree bay that were around the 4 kilo mark.

yeah ill belive it they get the occasional cobe in paddies as well

hi there bluewater yep i have see black marlin at the back of lion island about 5 year ago dollies in lake macquarie up to 5 kgs being a the right place a the right time

its the right time of year for the leadenells (or frigates) to turn up to.

They zoom around Patonga, The best lure I found for them was those little searocks, but they can be damn hard to catch sometimes.

i got my first marlin only probably 3 or 4 miles off lion island.

the fish are where the bait is!
