fishless scotty
headed out last night for my first experience of fishing at night in a boat. Launch at northbridge around 7:15 and headed straight for the wedding cakes. It was very nice and calm out there with only a slight breeze. Was going for kingfish and jewfish but they didn't want to play. Was using fresh squid and live yellowtail. Caught a couple of bream using squid but no jewfish. Decided to head to the spit bridge. There millions of yellowtail on the surface making a lot of noise. It look like they were feeding on something. Does anyone what it is. Well caught some undersized bream and decided to call it a night. Was back at the boat ramp by 1:

bung
probably chopper tailor feeding on baitfish under the bridge lights, not yakkas?
Pukka
I think all the noise could've been slimey mackerel. A large school has been hanging around the mouth of Bantry Bay for the last week or so, and have been seen/caught as far up as Roseville Bridge, which is quite unusual apparently.
