Botany Bay 8/1/04

Fished the bay today in abysmal conditions strong southerly 15 to 25 knots gusting to 35 knots I would have pulled the pin my mate Jim doesn’t get to fish often so we decided to give it a try hoping the things would improve ‘which it didn’t’ started off by throwing lures, poppers & sluggos around the markers through the bay which wasn’t easy with the boat slopping all over the place with 2 to 3 foot wind waves & trying like buggery not to fall out of the boat we gave up after a hour & went & hid in the little cove at the end of the container wall & did of bait fishing. The fishing proved to pretty slow with a couple of tiny snapper but we did manage to catch a few slimies that were a bit of fun after sitting in the wind & rain for 3 hours the wind started to drop a bit & we decided to try the markers again at one of the markers 3 young Asians were catching slimies on bass minnows they must have caught a dozen while my mate & I couldn’t get a touch so in disgust gave up & went home.
