robeebee,

you can purchase some loops made from braided nylon, they slip onto the end of your fly line use some glue like quick grip and wrap some thread over the join, then it's a simple matter of tying a loop onto your leader and presto simple on and off and quick change when needed.

You use a nail knot which is pretty easy to tie with the aid of a ball point pen ink tube.

Basically here is a link

Alternatively (read as "being really cheap") you could just make a little loop in the front of your fly line.

Use your bobbin and wrap it a couple of times. Secure it with a whip finish and apply some fly cement to set the whole thing.

I got it off a lefty kreh book and have been using it to much success.

Hope it helps

I use the braided loop for leader to line connection.

Never popped one and we fish 40lb straight threw on 9wts for long tails.

Super easy to tie, well when Patty does em for me :biggrin2:

Guys

I use a simple uniknot in the leader material and pul it up tight on the fly line so it bites in.

I have used this method from 3 weight to 12 weight and have never lost a fish because to knot failed or broke.

There are plenty of other methods and knots but this works for me.

Cheers
