humesy
Short report, in a rush. Took a novice mate out on the harbour on sunday in search of kingies. There was a throng at the spit in search of squid. Gave it a ahalf hearted go and loaded up on yakkas as well. Caught more yakks around at the island then picked up my mate at balmoral. Long story short- no kings at shark island, wedding cake nor near seaforth. Big packs of boats at known spots. Finally got a 60cm rat back at the spit when I thought that all was lost. Seeing my mate's excitement, when I gave him the rod made it all worth it. Dropped him off at Balmoral again and a jetty fisherman informed us that the kings had just been through. My mate jumps straight back in and we anchored up for one last unsuccessful bash. How did everyone else go? Cheers

inhlanzi
Hey Humsey Judging by all the boats out there there was not a lot caught. Glad you had some action. cheers inhlanzi
fishmaniac
Glad i wasn't the only one who thought sunday was slow. i too took friend for her first king and although we got a hit we didn't land any. And yes, wayyyyy too many boats out there, it is frustrating when people anchor right on top of you especially if you hook up to a good king with about 6 anchor lines within 10m! Will be out today again, hopefully for a better result. Good luck next time you guys head out
zen801
Hey Andrew, Long time no hear mate. Fishing in general with all this dirty water has been hard work and i gave it up awhile ago. I have been waiting for better water quality as our usual spots have been dead. Sunday fishing is just a nightmare and i only do it for things like the social. Mate i am thinking that there is a big jewie in a hole near you over the next few days. You interested in a beach fish? If so let me know as i am gonna give it a go and at the least wouldnt mind some intel from you (now your a local) on gutters. Cheers
cbietola
was out sunday , very slow as well, managed 1 undersise king 50cm on DR yakka, way to many boats out, the only way i combat this is to try and find new spots were there is no one else fishing and if you can get a few kings all to yourself its great ..................until next week when there are 50 boats in your new spot...lol cheers Craig
