Byron
Hi all, Just received an email from my mate Nick Brown at Port Stephens. See details below: "Caught a tub of yakkas and transported them up the beach last night. New moon with a high tide around 9pm. We were feeling confident and my mate ended up having the night of his life. To cut a long story short, I didn't get a run and he converted 2 runs for 2 fish. First jew - 31.5kg, second fish went 21.2kg. To top it off he had caught another jew on 2 Jan 05 that went 29kg. We fished from 7.30pm to 1.00am and got home about 2.30am. Long session but pretty bloody good. Too knackered to go tonight, but will have a another crack later in the week." Nick Brown A recent Saltwater Fishing magazine article written by Nick details his preferred method for jewie fishing from the beach. He certainly has the runs on the board from the photos in the article!!! Try and track a back issue down if you can. Lizard 1
wowee I'd be happy with something around the 6-10kg range let alone 29 to 33kg! Edited January 11, 2005 by Lizard
Dorado 2
What nice news this is can't wait to get up there, but I think I will settle to take with me fresh squid and pilchards, I have many reports of good captures of Jew so I'm def going to take the Alvey with me who knows might get lucky. Byron
That sounds like a good session. So when are we going up mate? 26614[/snapback] Plans are brewing as we speak!!!
dacobra
A few nice jew have also recently been taken from some of the ocean rocks up here at Port Stephens. I prefer the estuary scene but those I have been catching are less than five kilos. Until a few weeks ago the Hunter River was firing but it's been a bit quiet lately. Hope your trips to PS go well guys!
