These pictures were taken a couple of kms off Botany Heads.

First we saw the birds going crazy, then noticed the dolphins playing amongst them. (I never get sick of watching dolphins)

It was an amazing sight.

We tried trolling around the edges of the bait school (no luck), so we ended up just stopping and enjoying the "show". The dolphins were jumping and playing just metres from the boat.

This is what the birds and dolphins were chasing.

I'm not sure what they are?

bmar560, IFishSick and Josh88, now that I look closely at it, I think you're right. It is a "munched" yakka.

One of the birds had dropped it, so it had obviously been distorted somewhat. It was quite small, maybe only 6-8cm long. It just seemed so unusual when I first looked at it.
