On the friday before we are thinking of going somewere to catch some live/fresh bait e.g yakkers/squid. Does any one know of places that have good live bait groundes that are close to shore as that we are not taking the boat. thanks fisherboy
andrew399
You can get squid around clifton gardens and yakkas as well. Same at balmoral. live bait is best and yakkas are pretty easy to catch generally...
Seagoon
yeah balmoral off the rocky outcrop in between the two beachs - anchor in about 3.5m of water and burley up, and soon youll be surrounded by a swarm of yakkas :-)
dandas
yeah balmoral off the rocky outcrop in between the two beachs - anchor in about 3.5m of water and burley up, and soon youll be surrounded by a swarm of yakkas :-) We went to Balmoral yesterday and had a hard time dodging the sweep at first. It seemed that was all we could bring up. We moved a few meters away from the rock outcrop in front of the net and found it much better. We still got harassed by a few sweep but managed to pull in a few yakkas as well. Have fun !!
