glennmreid
Thinking of heading up to Forster for 3 days over this weekend. Anyone know what the fishing is like up there in the lake? I'm bringing up my boat, and will also do some fishing off the breakwall. What sort of species can I expect to catch at this time of the year? Any jews around? Going to get some hawkesbury squid from Tony at fishfinder, and see what I can do with that. Maybe our expert Forster local Roberta can help me with my question above. Also, are there any blackies still hanging around?
arpie
Hi Glenn Jewies are very thin on the ground just now - no-one can explain it .... the mullet are everywhere, we've had big rain & the lake has been purged ....... doesn't mean that you won't get one tho!! Gotta try!! In the last 2 days, I have seen biiiig flatties (shovel for a face) big bream & lots of whiting. Even saw one of the biggest Toadfish in my life today!!!! Huge!!! Off the breakwall, flatties, jew, bream, drummer. THe squid could do the trick with the jews! Lots of snags there tho, less so if boat based! Just gotta fend off the LB fishos tho! Saw some huge blackies around the leases today & yesterday .... didn't want my offerings tho! If you bring up any weed or cabbage from your own area, it may do the trick ..... and leave some with me for afters!!!! Good luck Roberta Edited March 5, 2008 by Roberta
