Josh88
Went out on the harbour today to try and get a few kings. Just wasn't meant to be....7 different squid spots for not even a follow-things weren't looking up. We did have squid from the fish markets and tried that in a variety of spots for not much. Did manage a nice big blue swimmer crab on line from Shark Island but otherwise just rubbish little snapper on the bream gear. O Well...better luck next time. Did anyone else struggle to find squid or kings today?? Josh Edited March 9, 2008 by Josh88

King slayer
Yeah, we did better than ever on the squid actually, which was cool, but it all turned into a let down after not even a touch at three different spots and again back to the old favourite. Those swimmers (Bridge to beach swim) were going right past us, I wonder if that had some effect? nothing but pinkies killing our beautiful squid. Saw some other guys pulling a few in at Clifton Gardens, but they went off the bite after we arrived ..oh well. Next week eh!
adam
Same thing for me,I was on the water by 5.30 and went to all the green channel markers but only got a nice 40cm tailor, then had a flick around Middle head.I saw them chase the lure up to boat but no hook ups. fishmaniac
G'day fellas, today was an average day on the harbour. although all intentions were to get up and have an early starts i didn;t leave the ramp till about 7:15... was out till 2pm and managed 10 calamari then tried off shore due to the fantastic conditions for a few leatherjackets (they're going ballistic off sth head) and no flatties which i was hoping for... back to the harbour to fish cliffo region. 8 keeper bream, a trevally and two kingies on the 8lb spin gear. Saw no. 1 son out there who at the time had not been having luck with the kings, hopefulyy they got into them. and a bloke at the ramp who battled a hammerhead off nth head
