The Poacher
Got out today with Glen Hunter on Billfisher. Fantastic weather, but the water was a funny colour for the first 10 miles at least. All quiet till about 2 o'clock when we found some massive oceanic dolphins feeding. There were two bills mixed in with them - one of which took a skipping slimey. After some acrobatics he sounded, and after some good boat driving we had him up top - a blue around 120kg. He went ballistic on the trace and nearly took out the deckie as he jumped towards the back of the boat, then across it. The leader nearly caught the guy on the video. Anyway, it all ended well and he went off to live another day. Had a few more lookers v close to the boat, and 1 more hookup but no more fish. A big thanks to Glen, Pete and Gary on Billfisher. Cheers. The Poacher.
