ElwoodBlues
A mate and I headed to the Entrance for a few hours on saturday afternoon about 430pm. From the moment we put out our first baits out we were getting bites and hook ups from alot of undersize bream. So I decided after about an hour that I might try my soft plastics as I have never caught anything on them yet and was desperate to try. So I grabbed my little overhead that I have been trying to learn how to cast and started flicking it out got a few birds nests but started to get the hang of it after a bit and managed to catch my very first fish on a soft plastic a nice 40cm Flatty As the sun started to set the tailor come on the bite for a little while and we both had fun hooking up some of them unfortunately they were all undersize but still great fun. We left at about 900pm So it was a day of first for me First fish on soft plastics and, First fish on the perviously unblooded rod and reel hopefully the picture works cheers David

stylo
Nice work on the plastic mate. BTW, what type/size line are you using on your b/c and what weight is the jighead ? Looks like a 3 gram version ? Edited March 11, 2008 by stylo
ElwoodBlues
Stylo The line is 12lb penn mariner mono as for the jighead I am not to sure on the weight of it it is very light probably to light for the current that was there
PlayerOne
Hi.... we took the boat out on Saturday and Sunday as well.... between the three of us, we landed over 20x legal size flatties. All were caught on soft plastics (except about four on prawns)!!! Biggest going 63cms.... We got most of the flatties were caught over the bridge, away from the crowds...... all were released except a couple saved for the BBQ! Great weather for fishing ATM! Frank G
Hey there Mr Elwoodblues! Terrific flattie mate but were there any catfish or eels on the bite? Or did u find a net full of fish? The last time i was there our deckhand failed to secure the keeper net and we lost our catch I hope you didn't have the same bad luck this time! Maybe i'll see you on the water soon and you could show me a thing or 2 about sp's
