I had been promising to take Adam Gatt for a fish for yonks but today we finally got it together. Launched from the Silver beach ramp just on first light at low tide “ a word of warning the ramp there is a dead set bitch at low tide the water was only ankle to knee deep†after getting the boat out of the shallow water we made a bee line for the cans where we chucked some sluggos around where I got 1 hit but no hook up with lots of fish showing on the sounder we anchored near 1 of the cans and got a burley slick going and immediately had heaps of fish in the slick XOS yakkas, slimies and rat kings . First bait in the water got grabbed buy a little king and adam was on after a solid tussle adam had his first king of about 50cm which he released after that the kings disappeared but the slimies kept the fun going we caught heaps of them some of them going 45cm . We caught a few smaller yellow tail, which I sent to the bottom, pinned though the nose, when I bought the livie up to see if it was still kicking kings followed in up but couldn’t be enticed to take it . After filling up on all the slimies we wanted we went over to bonna point to try for some lizards, we caught a 50cm model there but are were hoards of little jackets there ripping the SP’s to shreds so we moved over to and did some drifts along silver beach with no luck with the nor easterly getting stronger we pulled the pin and we home.
