Middle Harbour Night Jewie

Hi raiders,

Went out last night for a shot at a jewie in Middle Harbour.

Must say my mate had to talk me into it as i had pulled an all nighter on Saturday night and was feeling a bit rough. We both agreed that the low tide at about 11 pm was a big chance. A bit of intel from Humesy confirmed what we thought so headed out into the night.

I am not much of a night fisher and have only ever caught one jew at night. It was the biggest but the many others have all been during the day in MH.

Long story short we got bugger all but he got a big ray that gave his nice little braid outfit a work out.

Check the time and it was right on low tide. I am fading so i am thinking this jewie better hurry up. A few minutes later right on cue my mates new rod goes off on a run. This time we are thinking JEWIE as not long after he confirms we got head shakes. Fish comes up and hes got his first nice size jewie at 70cm.

He's pretty happy as we are when we get our first. Usually at this spot if you get one you will get more or at least another run or two. It was not to be so we pulled the pin.

Mate had to pay the price to the jewie God though as a quick dunk at the boat ramp due to my poor landing due to fatigue. Anyway it was all good.

The first is always the hardest. PS I caught nothing.

Cheers

Well done once more Mike getting a mate onto a jew !! I like the bottom of the tide in that part of middle harbour.

I feel sorry for your mate that got dunked in a sort of a way :074: I had this fat bloke, a fishraider member no names mentioned, fishing with me in the freezing cold one night. It was funny how he tripped on a wharf cleat at Brooklyn and went head first into the drink. You should have seen the eye bulge as he tried to grab onto the boat. :074: Shouldn't laugh I suppose

Cheers
