Yakkas Lake Macquarie/swansea

Hi all,

Am heading out on Monday in the new boat in the lake and hopefully outside of swansea...not to far but maybe down to Catherine hill bay etc. I've been told of a couple of squid locations for live baits but if I can't get any squid does anyone know if you can get yakkas in the lake or channel and any good spots. I know Sydney harbour pretty well for livies but am getting to learn the lake.

Any info would be appreciated.

As you head out the channel at swansea, go left behind blacksmiths beach, there is a bomy about 200m off the beach they call the bait grounds, pretty much directly infront of the surf lifesavinghouse, i've got them there before and its a hot spot for catching livies, before i was informed about the spot at blacksmiths

i'd been lucky enough to get them in the afternoon, incoming tide at the "drop off", where the lake meets the channel, plenty of burley they'll come around, dunno if there always there or i was just lucky those days..if your gps'n - 33.04.910 151.39.587
