tan the fisherman
Gday raiders, I recently picked up the Shimano BTR6500 from our friends at GoFish and I wanted to know the ideal rod to match it with, ideally Shimano... (I got a thing for matching same brand rod n reel) The reel will take up to 30lb line & my choices so far are: 1. Shimano Catana 15kg 6'8" 2. Shimano Elite Back Bone 15kg 5'7" What do you guys reckon would be the choice rod ? (other brands considered) Budget = $200 Thanks for your advice Tan Edited March 22, 2008 by tan the fisherman

Josh88
Both are reasonable rods, the extra length on the catana wouldn't hurt
Jigholio
the extra length on the catana wouldn't hurt Yes. I have same reel on 7ft rod, it's versatile & effective EDIT: Buy Humesys' rod for $30, it's a good match Edited March 22, 2008 by Jigholio
