OSHISWET
I took the kids fishing this morning in the harbour. We got absolutely drenched when we arrived. The car park at Tunks reserve was already packed at 5:30am and I told the kids that we should go home because it was raining cats and dogs but they persuaded me to stay as they said 'dad what are you worried about its only rain and look at all the other people already out there (mad).A plus was that there was no wind. Anyway we launched the boat and headed to Balmoral for some yellow tail but we never had any luck so we had a group decision and went squiding. My son Andrew landed the biggest green eye squid I have ever seen measuring 38cm just the hood. All up we caught 3 squid but it was hard going. We then went to fish spot X for kingies on the turn of the tied. Spot y and z were triedas well but no kingies caught. Any way we had a top day out together and we have a fresh supply of squid for the next outing. WE also bumped into HUNTMAN at the ramp and introduced ourselves to each other. Thanks for your help mate. Cheers
james7
That's a great squid LUMPOOKEY. 38cm (my best is only about 20cm ) Shame you didn't get a kingy, but hey, there's always next time. A day fishing with the kids is never wasted. Good luck for your next trip Cheers Peter
jewgaffer
Nice squid at 38cm Lumpookey! I can see the supply for a Hawkesbury session building up PeterS they're going to need a bit of luck, they're fishing with me, and I can sure outsmart myself and get on the wrong foot quite a bit too, sort of a tiggy touchwood thing like touching every second fence paling for luck. Ray and Marcel, I'm not over confident with calamari squid, local arrows works the best up there, so we may need some Hawkesbury arrows just in case. It's not much good doing a long session and blaming the bait. I'm sure we'll have plenty of rods out to put your rods with the calamari to the test against the arrows I'll be keeping a keen eye on the livies tho as some days livies get better attention from larger jew!
