Parra River Again - Easter Monday

Hit the river early again for a quick breaming session with mate Tony.

Fishing floating structure again, the bite was a fair bit slower than a week ago. Definately had to have the lure in really tight to entice a bite. I also noticed that the school would spook once we pulled a fish, and we'd have to move on.

Managed 6 legals the best 35 to the fork. The catch of the day however was a 60cm kingy caught on 4lb, tight in under a marina - What a buz! All the fish were caught early before 10am and then the bite shut down - perhaps it was the boat traffic.

At 11.30, I picked up my kids from the ramp and we went and hit Iron Cove for a while. Couldn't even manage a follow in there - it is fishing so sporadically lately.

Top effort on the kingy on 4lb gear  . How far up the river were you, if you don't mind me asking? I'm hoping one day they'll come up all the way to parra so I don't have to travel far.

Cheers.

Billy, it's amazing how much difference a bit of rediscovered confidence makes. At the end of last year I couldn't buy a bream, but after a bit of a refocus at the beginning of the year, I'm having a ball on the water and consequently I'm catching some fish. Tassie was the icing on the cake.

Royboy, kingy was caught near Woolwich. When I hooked it and it took it's first run, I had a fleeting moment where I thought I'd hooked a cannon of a bream, but that didn't last long before I had a pretty good hunch it was a kingy. I had a few follows from the kings a week before in the same spot. It got the adrenaline pumping and I was stoked when I landed it. First kingy as by-catch chasing bream - secretly hoping I get a bit more kingy bycatch :biggrin2:

Newattheame, my boat is an Attack 470.

Cheers, Greg

They have been getting Sambo's & Kings up a far as Greenwich for the last two years, although the last spell of wet weather put them back down-harbour for a while

Greg went out on the same day but didnt see you, myself and john managered about 15 legal bream and a few good size trev's aswell.

I also agree with you regarding I.C the place has been flogged so much of late and all that seem to be around are undersized ones.

Going out sunday again in the morning due to a social that was cancelled and having to go home before midday, so if your about say hi. :1fishing1:

Sorry matt not canelled......mmmmmmmmmmmmmmoooooooovvvveeeeeeeedddddddddddddd.

If chippo was still on id would have gone out and finished early but with the rain it was a no go like you said.

As for heading all the way down river for only a few hour wasnt fair for jeff and a waist of time for me.

So the parra was a better option for me....on early off early and home to do the wifey thing :wife: .
