Rexxy
hi all, am a longtime hobby fisher, and have only just decided to give beach fishing a go, so have just increased my fishing artillery to include a 4.3m rod, and also pciked up the necessary tackle (3/0 and 4/0 open eyed hooks for ganging), 20lb mono line, star sinkers, weighted floats, extra traces etc and am now trying to work out a good place to fish and learn how to handle such a large rod. I am consiering Long Reef, but am not sure where exactly on the beach is decent. But then thought maybe one of the other beaches along there may be a better option, i.e. collaroy etc... I have gone through a lot of the threads etc, just needing some advice on spots on the actual beaches.... I dont want to find out after hours of fishing i was casting out out into shallows..hehehe oh yeah, this is my first post here too.....
zen801
Hi Rexxy, Mate Long reef is a good place for beach fishing. I have caught jewies there and seen heaps of others landed there as well. Also got tailor, salmon and some big sharks. Fish anywhere there is a gutter. Near the lagoon on Dee Why side there is a pole sticking out of the beach. Heaps of people fish around there. good luck
