For anyone that's interested, I went out again last night for a 4hr Jew sesh. Same old story still nothing. 124hrs now and counting. Maybe I'm putting too much pressure on myself. Or maybe I've just lost it completely. Yeah infact, where is that bottle of scotch.

Where did you go mate? You are not the only one trying to catch these gems. My brother and I have spent many hours chasing them for a big zero. Just hang in there and you will be rewarded.

Beach fishing for a jewie is probably harder than catching a marlin.

This is the time of year to get one so hang in there.

Fish the high or even low tide at night and look for a gutter.

Fish in the gutter but also try to the sides as well. Try lots of different baits.

Fresh whole squid or strips. Butterflied yakkas and tailor.

I have caught a few jewies but the biggest was from the beach.

I am gonna try Long Reef next week for a jew. I will collect some bait and freeze it for the night.

I saw 3 landed in an hour the other week (one was mine too!) all between 6 and 12kg. Try a bit of burley to stir things up. Chuck out a pillie cube every few minutes into the gutter. Don't bother when its flat. A swell between 1.5 to 2m is perfect.
