post-6766-1208608219_thumb.jpgHi Raiders,

Well where do I start, got to Magpie Hollow at about 8 am (gentlemans hours) flicked a bait out and starting flicking SP's around with about 4 or 5 strikes but no hook up in the first hour.

The sun got a little higher with the temp picking quite nicely and all of a sudden there where fish everywhere around us, the bait rod was starting become active with the first of 13 rainbow trout landed.

I gave up on casting lures as I was attending to the bait rod every 2 or 3 minutes so I transformed the spin stick in to a second bait rod and was quite busy until 11.30 am when we headed for the Hills.

Mrs Roffo was doing her assignment in the car when she was called upon to help out, we had double hooks on 3 occassions. We were laughing in disbelief as it was pandimonium.

There were 3 campers close by who were enjoying the show, the fish ranged from 15cm to 53cm as pictured below (hopefully) we went through a whole jar of powerbait in 3 hours, it was great !!!!!!!

We lost 8 fish with 2 being well over 50 cm due to the light leader being cut by the trout's teeth.

Not my PB out there but I've never seen a frenzy like that at Lyall before it was just mad..

There where 6 boats trolling with not much luck for them but we could hear one chap say "the fish where here yesterday" it was quite funny.

We did take a 45 cm fish home with the rest going back to grow some more.

Hope everyne else had some luck.

Cheers

Thanks Guy's,

We did manage a couple of pictures but will need a hand down loading, maybe file size is too big.

Each picture is about 1,120 KB.

We got a shot of the biggest one and one other, got a few more on my phone.

I'll sort this out today and try to post again.

Yes the lake was firing but not untill about 9.00am.

Cheers

Oh mate, talk bout feeling ecstatic !!! What a mad session, so many to have been landed, regardless of the lost ones that got away is good in anyone's books.

Definately an unforgettable day's fishing by the sounds of things too :)
