arpie
Hi guys We had a wedding up here in Forster this weekend - nothing to write home about, I know, but, these guys & their guests had travelled from Dubbo & interstate to get here ..... and it was an OUTDOOR wedding at the Green Cathedral at Tiona .... not only that ...... it had been raining since last Sunday & they were panicking that this Sat (12th) was going to be wet & horrible for their ceremony. Father of the Groom (from a farm out Mendooran way) said - No worries ..... COLA shows that it will rain all week, but be fine on Saturday. Like Yeah - we can depend on that??? COLA stands for Center for Ocean-Land-Atmosphere Studies & you can check out weather patterns for all around the world on a weekly basis. We checked the site every day Center for Ocean-Land-Atmosphere Studies http://wxmaps.org/pix/aus.vv.html and it kept showing Sat was going to be fine with the possibility of a small bit of rain on Sunday. BOY! Did they get it right???? Late on Friday afternoon, it started clearing (altho it had bucketted in the morning & numerous times every day before that.) The afternoon rehearsal went well, but the glare from the water was going to play havoc with photos of the couple getting hitched ...... Saturday loomed bright & beautiful! No wet seats to sit on, no need for umbrellas - smiles on all the dials! There was even enough cloud cover to prevent the massive glare from the water the day before, so it couldn't have been scripted better! A fantastic day for the young couple to start off their married life (until they lost the key to their Honeymoon Suite, but that is another story altogether .... and only realised it at midnight, still in their wedding gear!) and Sunday followed up with another day in Paradise & we all met up for a BBQ lunch on the grass at One Mile Beach, around the corner from us. So, if you are planning an event, have a look this site - forewarned is forearmed! Cheerio Roberta Unfortunately, it looks like Sydney will be getting a fair amount of rain all this week - maybe about 10mm daily!

Roberta Roberta... well okay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! got agree with you this time..... but seriously in regards to up your way..... how could they get it wrong I mean it has not let up for you in that part of the world by the sounds of things since i left up there after xmas.... Maybe the tourist literature given out by the nsw goverment should change it from the sunny north coast to the rain sodden coast. how they still work out i can't wash the mud of my driveway with a garden hose as got me miffed when they keep mentioning in regards to the rain of the records that keep getting broken of late or as that as it been changed back i seem to hear little of the restrictions been talked about in the media much nowadays.. arpie
hehehehe I think all the weather sites got this one right!! Can't remember that much rain over Xmas ..... but then again, I wasn't on holidays! (so to speak!) It started raining here on April 6th & has only stopped for 1 & 1/2 days (luckily for my buddy's outdoor wedding ) I still don't think they know how lucky they were!!! I was in Sydney for a few days over last weekend & still managed to fish most days (always took wet weather gear with me, but only used it once or twice) then returned here on Tues ..... and we had 45mm on that day alone! Been getting that sort of rain most days since! I am sooooo sick of the rain! Haven't left the house! Yeah - funny how you can't wash your driveway .... but Warragamba hasn't been getting much!~ Now, it is reckoning it will clear up possibly tomorrow & then be fine on Sun, Mon & possibly Tues! Now that would be a miracle!! Cheerio Roberta

Cheers Warnie... Warnie ! There's no guarantee yet Stocko boy These two old inebriate brothers and there old cretin mate up there have done this old sunken wreck of a house boat up it was more seaworthy before they started. I'm going up tomorrow myself, but if those ratbags stay out on the turps, I reckon that floating buskers' carriage will take off for sure and they'll find them along the old railway track somewhere between Warren and Nyngan. Got any plans with the kite Warnie ?? it could slow them down a bit Cheers jewgaffer Edited April 25, 2008 by jewgaffer
arpie
What a difference 24hrs makes!!! Fine, sunny, blue skies & small wind!! Saw a bloke pull in a huge bream this morning at Tuncurry on mullet. Must have been 35cm+. Big blue nosed bruiser with big teeth! I've gone all optimisitic again .... but will be housebound most of the day, getting ready for visitor! Maybe I'll sneak down to Burgess & see if the blackies want to come out to play?? :) They do reckon the wind will pick up in the afternoon tho! Cheerio Roberta The map is looking pretty good for the whole week now (maybe a drop or two on Monday)! Edited April 25, 2008 by Roberta
